Earlier this week I drove down to Palo Alto to get some work done before meeting up with friends for dinner. It’s always challenging to pick something to wear when you know you’re leaving the house all day and into the evening. I needed something that was comfortable and casual enough for the day, but can easily be dressed up with a pair of heels and worn out for drinks or dinner. I’m a HUGE fan of flats, you’ll soon come to see that, and and I’ll eventually do an entire post on the favorites that fill my closet. These gold ones have been a staple all summer because they’re so easy to match with almost anything, and can make even a casual skirt or dress look current and cool.

I love this leopard top because it’s loose and comfortable, but the print and exaggerated armholes add a little subtle sexiness. That made it easy to dress up a bit with heels for dinner. Cage sandals give a little “oomph” to any outfit, and the wedge heel on these makes them super-comfortable. I’m big on comfort. I spent many years beating my feet to no end and they just stop functioning now after 10 minutes in a pair of torture devices.

I never realized how strangely life-like the leopard face is on this tank until I started looking at these pictures. I think it’s hilarious and maybe even a little creepy, which makes me like it even more.
